Red Hook Studios has announced Darkest Dungeon II is ending its early access period and entering version 1.0 on May 8, 2023.
The follow-up to Darkest Dungeon launched into early access back in October 2021, shifting its release from Steam to Epic Games Store. Now though, that exclusivity deal ends and those who wish to pick the title up on Steam are now free to do so.
To celebrate the move away from early access, a demo is available as part of Steam Next Fest. The demo allows you to test out the four starting heroes through one entire region as you deal with enemy factions and ensure your survival. Not only that, but you’ll be able to visit the city of Sprawl or the Foetor farms.
It should be noted progress will not carry over to the full game.
The full version of the Darkest Dungeon II will feature a dozen playable heroes, five full regions, five end bosses, and a metagame hub with extensive persistent upgrades.
