Cyberpunk 2077: Phantom Liberty

CD Projekt Red To Reveal Cyberpunk 2077: Phantom Liberty Details This June

Over on Twitter, CD Projekt Red confirmed the studio plans to showcase the upcoming Cyberpunk 2077 expansion Phantom Liberty next month.

So far, the studio has been silent on what the expansion starring Idris Elba entails but the dates line up with Summer Game Fest next month. Whether or not CD Projekt Red was planning an E3 reveal is unknown but given that the ESA and Reedpop cancelled the expo for 2023 yesterday, it seems like Geoff Keighley may have a hand in the reveal.

With Keanu Reeves’s character Johnny Silverhand returning to interact with Elba’s Solomon Reed, an agent of the New United States of America, it remains to be seen what the stakes are in the expansion. However, the talent pool is incredible and I’m sure whatever the developers cook up should be worthy of the actors being brought in.

The Phantom Liberty expansion is tentatively set to launch sometime later in 2023 for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series, and PC. In the meantime, Cyberpunk 2077 will add full ray tracing (path tracing) under the Overdrive Mode on April 11 via patch 1.62.
