Cuphead developers clarified that the long awaited title will remain an exclusive title for Xbox One and will not be coming to the PlayStation 4.
It has been a while since we first saw Cuphead debut at Xbox’s 2015 E3 presentation and since then fans can’t get enough of the beautiful hand-drawn indie. Now we know that PlayStation owners shouldn’t hold their breath for it to release on PS4, as developers confirmed recently. Through a reply to a fan on NeoGAF, the developers clarified the confusion about where the game will be releasing. The developers stated that,
“Yes. This Cuphead game is exclusive to Xbox and PC (with Steam and Win 10 versions to launch and a GoG release likely shortly after). There will likely be a Mac version down the road and possibly a Linux version beyond that (unless we lose our houses or whatever). We own the Cuphead IP”.
This also clarify other places the game will be available to play; as well as future plans the developers has for the game.
Cuphead is a 2D platformer shooter that’s animation style is heavily inspired by 1930s cartoons. The eclectic look of the game has caught the attention of many gamers and is highly anticipated. Despite the hype the indie studio behind it, StudioMDHR, has already delayed the game multiple times but at this years E3 it was finally given a release date of September 29, 2017.
