Earlier this morning, Chinese social media network BiliBili accidentally leaked the existence of Crysis 4, confirming that the “Crysis 4 project is confirmed.”
Shortly after the slip, the official Crytek Twitter account came out and revealed that the news was true and fans could expect a follow-up a decade after Crysis 3.
“It’s something you have been asking us for a long time, so it’s now finally time to confirm – yes, the next Crysis game is happening!” says Avni Yerli, CEO of Crytek. “We are so pleased and excited to bring this news to you, and we really can’t wait to reveal more details about what lies ahead.”
I wouldn’t expect to see anything soon as Yerli says the game is in the early stages of development and it’ll be a while before we see more. The goal today was to give players the excitement of knowing a fourth game was coming and that the studio is listening to fans.
While it has been a decade since we’ve seen a new game in the Crysis series, last year Crytek launched the Crysis Remastered Trilogy on major platforms.
