Publisher Modus Games and developer Dreams Uncorporated released a demo for their upcoming video game, Cris Tales. Since releasing the demo to the public, the studio received a resounding amount of feedback on the demo from players, which is helping the developers adjust the game for its the final release date.
First, the demo is roughly 45 minutes, the average became roughly 50 minutes with some players playing upwards of three hours. Next, the fans loved the hand-drawn art, followed by the combat. According to feedback, combat is reminiscent of Paper Mario and The Legend of Dragoon. The time mechanics allow players to go back and forth in battle using the timeline in combat, same goes with solving puzzles. The music is composed by two composers: Norihiko Hibino and Com_poser, who is known in the Super Mario Maker community. And lastly, the character designs are inspired by the team’s native country – Colombia.
I’m looking forward to seeing how Cris Tales ends up with all the retooling. It’s a beautiful game but won’t be out until next year.
Cris Tales is scheduled to release on PlayStation 4, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch and PC in 2020.
