We have been blessed! Probably Monsters’ Crimson Moon has been announced at today’s PlayStation State of Play
Set in a beautiful gothic world where angels, demons, and ancient gods brush into each other — seemingly violently — you play as the Nephilim, a human-angel hybrid serving the Order of the Crimson Moon. What that means is still unclear to me, but I do know the goal is to reclaim the cursed city of Gildenarch from the evil that infests it.
However, it’s easier said than done, because district by district, ward by ward, you’re facing down hordes of the undead, vampires, and the demonic Infernal Legion’s return.
This is likely to be a game for players who thrive on improvisational, expressive combat. Crimson Moon rewards experience and skill, distilling wave after wave of savage violence into fast, replayable showcases of brutal expertise.
Parries, finishers, angelic arts, and transformations help you slowly regain control of the city, but the waves learn how to beat you down, adapting to how you stand your ground. What will you do to stuff it to the Infernal Legion?
Missions emerge from the Sanctus Clypeus, which is your home, anchored by the War Table. Forge new armor and weapons at the Blacksmith, and chart your next incursion into Gildenarch. As the war escalates and the story unfolds, the War Table unveils new quests and escalating threats shaped by the Infernal Legion’s advance.
You are probably up for some monster missions, and you can take it all on solo, or join a team of friends with dynamic difficulty scaling and enemy composition ensuring every mission feels fresh and personal.
Crimson Moon launches later this year.
