Square Enix is planning on releasing a pair of orchestral albums for both Chrono Trigger and Chrono Cross, similar to a NieR: Automata orchestral arrangement album released last year. However, the studio is yet to confirm the tracklists for either game and we know very little about the project, other than Yasunori Mitsuda is returning to supervise the new arrangments.
In a Twitter post over on Procyon Studio’s official page, we get a look at work being done for the new arrangments with the Tokyo Philharmonic Orchestra.
Chrono Trigger and Chrono Cross are getting an album. Each album features eight tracks rearranged and are being sold as individual albums, and if you want both you’re in luck. A box set is coming as well and includes both albums, as well as a bonus disc containing four exclusive arrangements. If you’re interested, each album will be available for around $40 CAD, and the box set is priced at roughly $100 CAD.
The Chrono Trigger, Chrono Cross, and box set are set to launch on September 7, 2019, and are available for pre-order. These ship internationally if you are interested.
Two concerts will be held in Osaka on September 7, 2019, and in Tokyo on October 27, 2019. Sadly, there won’t be anything outside of Japan, but if we hear of anything will report on any news we find.
