Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3’s New Multiplayer Trailer Showcases Refreshed Maps

Please leave it to a great Eminem song to hype you up for the latest multiplayer trailer from Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3.

The flashy new trailer shows just a few quick glimpses of gameplay, but it does promise at least one striking and welcoming statistic: 16 maps classic maps.

These 16 will all be taken from 2009’s Modern Warfare 2 and reimagined and recreated in the new game. On top of that, there will be 12 6v6 stages to battle it out on. All 28 of these are available at launch to all players.

The team at Sledgehammer Games has taken its time bringing the maps into the modern game. Design Director Zach Hodson said in a blog post in September: “What was good about the movement of older games? What was good about the gunplay of older games?” And the same with the newer games… So we tried to marry those things.”

Expect to see Scrapyard, Quarry, Terminal, Favela, Estate, and more in Modern Warfare 3.

Call of Duty: NEXT will kick off at 9 AM PT, 12 PM EST on Thursday, October 5th. There, players can get even more information and news drops about what’s next for the franchise with Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3.

The game itself launches on November 10th. Pre-orders are available now and allow you to play the upcoming beta and early access.
