Cairn, the rock climbing simulator from The Game Bakers, launched earlier this year to critical acclaim.
Luckily, fans won’t have to wait long to dig into more of it, as On The Trail was announced at today’s Triple-i Initiative Showcase. The free DLC will launch sometime this summer, with the debut trailer showcasing new locations and challenges to meticulously climb up, through, and around. This is just the first in a series of new DLC, with more on the way later.
On The Trail will feature three new climbing areas, water soloing, which allows players to climb over water, and a new playable character in Marco. We loved Cairn when it launched earlier this year, giving it a 9, saying: “Cairn wasn’t on my list of must-play titles this year, but after 20 hours, it’s quickly become that game. The one I couldn’t stop thinking about while working throughout the day. It’s actually a puzzle game, as no two climbs ever feel the same or offer the same experience. No, Cairn is just this incredible game I can’t put down.”
Cairn is out now on Steam and PS5, with On The Trail launching as free DLC this summer.
