Surprise! A new piece of free DLC for Borderlands 2 was revealed via the game’s Steam page and has since been removed. The story based expansion will supposedly bridge the narrative between Borderlands 2 and Borderlands 3, which is out in September.
Commander Lillith and The Fight for Sanctuary will explain why Sanctuary is no longer on Pandora and instead is now your hub on a space station. The new DLC is set to include new bosses, new areas, and new loot, too.
Return to the award-winning shooter-looter for a new adventure that sets the stage for the upcoming Borderlands 3. Sanctuary is under siege, the Vault’s map has been stolen and toxic gas is poisoning Pandora. Fight new bosses, explore new zones, get new loot (including an entirely new tier beyond Legendary) and join up with Lilith and the Crimson Raiders to take on a deranged villain hell-bent on ruling the planet.
Returning players can pursue an increased level cap of 80, while newcomers can automatically boost to level 30 and dive straight into the action.
Borderlands 3 is out on September 13 for PlayStation 4, Windows PC, and Xbox One. The leaked DLC, Commander Lilith & The Fight For Sanctuary might drop during E3 this year, which makes sense since on PlayStation, Borderlands: The Handsome Collection is currently free for PlayStation Plus subscribers, and on Steam, the same collection is on sale for $200 dollars off.
