Revealed last night at CineaCon, Sony Pictures is working with PlayStation Productions, Lyrical Animation, and Sean McLouglin on an animated Bloodborne film.
You know McLouglin as Jacksepticeye, but he’s now shifting his sights to film. No details on what to expect from the Bloodborne project, but it is being financed by Lyrical Media and Sony Pictures.
Speaking to Variety, Sanford Panitch, president at Sony Pictures, says the film will be “very true” to the spirit of Bloodborne as the protagonist enters the cursed city of Yharnam.
Released in 2015, Bloodborne was directed by Hidetaka Miyazaki and has since remained stuck on the PlayStation 4. It was rumoured that Bluepoint Games pitched a remake of the game before being shuttered earlier this year.
Sony Pictures and PlayStation Productions have several game adaptations in the works. A Helldivers movie is coming from Justin Lin, known for his work on the Fast and the Furious series. A God of War television series is coming to Prime Video, and a Horizon movie is coming to Netflix.
