Blizzard's VP of Culture

Blizzard Hires Vice President of Culture

Blizzard Entertainment has enlisted Jessica Martinez, a former Walt Disney Company employee where she led strategy, communications, operations, and employee experience. Now, she tackles something that is sorely needed at Blizzard in her new role as the first vice president of culture.

The news was officially announced on Twitter and revealing this new position was created as part of an “ongoing initiative to create a more diverse, equitable, and inclusive workplace culture where people at every level can learn, grow, and bring their most creative selves to work.”

Jessica’s role will be to grow the culture strategy at Blizzard, making sure the new vision aligns across each team while revamping the learning and talent programs already established.

“When you create a people-first environment where teams feel safe, valued, and work together toward a shared purpose, everyone thrives–the employees, the players, and the business,” says Martinez. “Making the values of our connections show up in what we do is how we bring humanity back to business.”

Martinez joins the company after months of ongoing litigation at Activision Blizzard. While the majority of the workforce has demanded Bobby Kotick leave his role and resign, the company continues to try to improve itself but without cutting out the tumour, the healing cannot begin.
