Beyond A Steel Sky Delayed to 2020

The long-awaited sequel to the 1990s sci-fi point and click adventure Beneath the Sky, is officially moving into 2020 for release. Revolution Software confirmed that Beyond a Steel Sky is moving from its intended 2019 date into next year.

Over on the official website’s blog, the studio confirmed the delay and explained that by delaying the game, the studio is able to “realize their vision,” in order to produce the best product that they can make. The positive side of the delay is that it doesn’t look like it will be a lengthy delay, with Revolution Software mentioning the game should arrive “a few months later in 2020.”

From what is said, the extra time is for integrating systems fully into the game, such as a Virtual Theatre for one, touching up the visuals and ensuring the best quality product launches. I’m all for delays for a quality game, so this is a good thing.

Beyond a Steel Sky is launching for Apple Arcade, PC, Xbox One, and PS4 in 2020.
