Bayonetta 3 Struts its Way to Nintendo Switch on October 28th

Nintendo and developer, Platinum Games have finally confirmed Bayonetta 3’s 2022 Nintendo Switch release and have announced the game is releasing on October 28th alongside a brand new trailer and story details.

The third entry in the series is set to feature large-scale Infernal Demons battles and a “coven of Bayonetta,” with “each more fabulous than the last” which takes place in Tokyo (as seen in past trailers), the mountainsides of China,” and “beyond.” Even though her name is in the game title, Bayonetta 3 isn’t just about Bayonetta as players will also get to control the long sword-wielding “witch-in-training,” Viola who comes in wit the Nero angst energy. The release date news comes less than a day after the Entertainment Software Rating Board certified Bayonetta 3 with a “Mature” rating after almost five years since it was announced by Nintendo at The Game Awards 2017.

“In this third installment of the Bayonetta series, the unstoppable Umbra Witch must join forces with some familiar faces, the mysterious Viola and a multitude of other Bayonettas to stop human-made Homunculi from wreaking havoc. In the game, you’ll make use of Bayonetta’s wicked weapons and powerful new Demon Masquerade ability to blast, stomp and slam enemies with exciting over-the-top combos and demonic powers. Prove you’re the baddest witch around by battling an evil that’s bent on plunging humanity into the depths of chaos,” Bayonetta 3’s Nintendo Switch description reads.

In addition, Bayonetta 3 is getting a collector’s edition known as the “Trinity Masquerade Edition,” which will be available at “select retailers” and the My Nintendo Store. The collector edition is set to come with a 200-page colour art book and 3 reversible game cases from each game in the series that combine into one majestic display – more details on it coming in the future. Alongside the threequel new, the original Bayonetta on Nintendo Switch is getting its first physical release for $29.99 USD which again will be available at “select retailers” and the My Nintendo Store, Nintendo notes there will be a limited number of copies.
