Big news for Battlefront fans from Gamescom! Star Wars Battlefront is getting space battles!
The new game mode, titled Battle Station, will be packaged with the Death Star expansion and will include 3 different each with a different objective.
Phase 1 consists of flying X-Wings and A-Wings against the Imperial TIE Fighters and TIE Interceptors in space. The objective is for the Rebels to fend off the Imperial forces so that their Y-Wings can come in and weaken the Star Destroyer’s defenses. Once the defenses are down, the Rebels can attack and attempt to bring down the monster ship.
Phase 2 takes place inside the space station in areas inspired by the classic trilogy. The Rebels will need to extract a priority droid from within the Death Star. During the chaos of battle, you’ll be able to take up arms as our new heroes Bossk and Chewbacca and gain the advantage!
Lastly, in the grande finale, players head back into space where the Rebels need to end the battle for good – by blowing up the Death Star! Players can take up the reins of the Red-5 X-wing and become the hero of the Rebellion, Luke Skywalker, as they attempt to destroy the Empire’s destructive weapon. But beware as Darth Vader has been dispatched to protect the Empire’s asset in his TIE Advanced!
The Death Star expansion will also come with new Star Cards and Blasters of course, along with the new Heroes, Chewbacca and Bossk!
