Bandai Namco has announced that Baten Kaitos: I & II HD Remaster will launch on the Nintendo Switch on September 14, 2023.
Baten Kaitos: Eternal Wings and the Lost Ocean and Baten Kaitos Origins return with remastered graphics. Bandai Namco is improving the graphics with new features to aid game progression.
Baten Kaitos: Eternal Wings and the Lost Ocean tells the story of Kalas, on a revenge-seeking mission to avenge his brother and grandfather. With Xelha, the duo embarks on a journey to fight the Alfard Empire.
Baten Kaitos Origins is a prequel set 20 years before the first game. Playing as Sagi, a spiriter connected to the Guardian Spirits must set out on a journey to clear his name after being framed.
Bandai Namco adds six new adjustable parameters including the ability to adjust game speed and random enemy encounters and save your choices, which can be adjusted at any time. The toggles are:
- No encounters: Turn off random enemy encounters
- Instant KO: Enable enemies to be defeated with a single strike
- Game speed: Choose from three options (100％, 200％ and 300％)
- Battle speed: Choose from three options (100％, 200％ and 300％)
- Simple battle results display: Switch to a simpler display of mid-battle results after each turn
- Auto-battle: Enable battles to be played automatically
Baten Kaitos 1 & 2 also adds autosave, a help feature to learn key terms and how to play the game from the systems menu, a New Game+ Mode that carries across level, rank, and Magnus; a New Game Mode that applies restrictions on what carries over to make it a more difficult run.
