Banishers: Ghosts of New Eden

Banishers: Ghosts of New Eden Delayed, Now Launching On February 13th, 2024

Due to a busy release schedule in the last 2023 quarter and give the game "the spotlight it deserves"

We have another delay as Publisher Focus Entertainment and developer DONTNOD have announced that Banishers: Ghosts of New Eden has been delayed out of the year and is now set to be released on February 13th, 2024.

Originally scheduled to release for PC and the most recent consoles on November 7th, Banishers: Ghosts of New Eden is now releasing three months later than initially intended. The reason has nothing to do with giving the game more polish. Like the upcoming Alone in the Dark reboot, Banishers: Ghosts of New Eden is getting out of the way of the upcoming AAA releases in the last quarter of the year.

“We have decided to postpone the release of this new franchise by three months, as the market is experiencing an intense release cycle for AAA titles on PC and consoles at the end of the year. We are convinced that a commercial release of Banishers: Ghosts of New Eden during a less saturated period will give it the attention it deserves,” Focus Entertainment managing director John Bert and DONTNOD CEO Oskar Guilbert said in a joint statement.

The developer added on Twitter that Banishers: Ghosts of New Eden is already “finished and set for release… [in] the spotlight it deserves.” Even with that said, this upcoming February looks pretty packed, with some notable releases coming out that month, including Persona 3 Reload, Suicide Squad, Helldivers 2, Mario vs. Donkey Kong, and Final Fantasy VII Rebirth.

Banishers: Ghosts of New Eden is described as an “epic love story” with gameplay inspired by God of War (2018), launching on PC, PS5, and Xbox Series on February 13th, 2024.
