Bandai Namco Developed Assets for Mario Kart 8 Deluxe, ARMS and More

Bandai Namco and Nintendo are closer than I thought and as it turns out, both worked together to developer several games. Their relationship goes back years and Bandai Namco developed Super Smash Bros. for Wii U and 3DS, Super Smash Bros. Ultimate, and Pokken Tournament DX. Recently the company updated its product page on its website, which explained the company’s role in the development of Nintendo titles.

Mario Kart Tour

For the smartphone game “Mario Kart Tour”, released by Nintendo on September 25th, 2019, we partially implemented in-games and 3D visual assets for courses, characters and machines. We also produced approximately half of the bonus challenges.

ARMS

For the Nintendo Switch game “ARMS”, released on July 16, 2017, we produced approximately half of visual assets for stages, fighters and arms.

Mario Kart 8 Deluxe

For the Nintendo Switch game “MARIO KART 8 DELUXE”, released on April 28, 2017, we produced approximately half of visual assets for courses, characters and machine parts.

As you can see above, Bandi worked a significant amount on two Nintendo Switch, working on “approximately half of the visual assets for courses, characters and machine parts” for Mario Kart 8 Deluxe, as well as “partially implemented in-games and 3D visual assets for courses, characters and machines. We also produced approximately half of the bonus challenges” for Mario Kart Tour.

Nintendo in recent years has been trusting enough to lend their properties to other developers to work and develop new titles for them. So far, things have worked out well for them and I hope we see more of collaborations in the future.
