Being a game within the Dungeons and Dragons universe, Baldur’s Gate 3 and developers Larian Studios are touting that their latest adventure is all about choice. That starts with the customizable characters and their stories.
We detailed some of the classes and sub-classes that will be available at launch last month. They’ve unveiled the last Origin character called Dark Urge during the Panel From Hell livestream.
The Dark Urge embodies the darkest recesses of the moral spectrum. With alabaster skin and a hulking dragonborn frame, The Dark Urge’s preset design is an imposing one, glaring back with the piercing gaze of a predator.
Larian brought one of the most gruesome, unrelenting, dark, and brutal creatures into Baldur’s Gate 3. A blog post from PlayStation details the Dark Urge. It even goes so far as to display a gif of a Dark Urge violently kicking a squirrel. The sinister character has a deep and dark backstory, but just like with all the other characters in the game, you can still customize and tailor your experience.
Love Is In The Air
Romance through Bladur’s Gate 3 in almost any way you want. That freedom was front and centre during Larian’s stream when a character was up close and…. personal… with a druid bear.
“At Larian, we have and ultimately landed on the side of giving the people what they want: tender, consensual romance with a man temporarily transformed into a grizzly bear,” Lead writer Adam Smith writes.
With hundreds of hours of cutscenes and the promise of almost endless freedom, this likely won’t be the last we hear or see stories like this when the game launches in the coming weeks and months. Watch out, social media; bear love is in the air!
Baldur’s Gate 3 will release on PC on August 3, ahead of a release on PlayStation 5 on September 6.
