Baldur’s Gate 3: Deluxe Edition Revealed, Out In 2024

It’s a grand day for Larian Studios and their expansive D&D RPG simulator, Baldur’s Gate 3!

Let’s be fair, though. It’s been a good stretch for Larian because Baldur’s Gate 3 is coming off a week after taking home an incredible seven awards at last week’s Golden Joysticks. And with eight nominations at next month’s Game Awards, its golden year will likely continue!

However, LarianStudios is announcing its celebrations will get a little more physical in 2024 with the Baldur’s Gate 3: Deluxe Edition!

Like the game’s character creation system, which we’re sure there are players who have been in since launch, the Baldur’s Gate 3 Deluxe Edition is stacked! It features game discs for the console of your choice or PC, an exclusive Mind Flayer poster, a world map, a soundtrack, 32 stickers, two patches and one hell of a book box.

In-game, it also nets you all the Digital Deluxe content from launch.

“This experiment is what we feel the future of physical media looks like, at least for us at Larian,” says Michael Douse, director of publishing. “We spent the last few months learning how to do it from scratch and put everything we learned from the Collector’s Edition into what we hope is unbeatable value for what we’re considering our standard physical version going forward. If it works out, we’ll keep doing it this way. We understand the value of physical media, and while there are clearly increasingly significant challenges when it comes to the archiving of games, we truly believe it’s worth experimenting, even if it means a fuck-ton of discs.” I mean, two disks on PlayStation 5 and three disks on Xbox Series X/S per Deluxe Edition is a fuck-ton of disks!

Pre-orders are available now, with packages shipping in early 2024.
