After walking around feeling like a zombie void of any life since we got the news in March that Warner Bros. Games and Turtle Rock Studios were delaying Back 4 Blood, I feel my energy returning to me.
And I have this video to thank for my new lease on life because next week on August 5 it looks like we’re getting some fleshy beta content to snap our jaws at.
Chief among it is “Swarm”, a PvP mode that harkens back to the Left 4 Dead we all know and love so much in a best-of-three format that’s screaming out “esports ready” much in the same way my neighbour has been screaming “brains” in the hallway for the past few hours. Players will be switching between the human Cleaners and the infected Ridden over two maps during the beta. The Ridden will also feature six playable classes: the Bruiser, Retch, Hocker, Exploder, Crusher, and Stinger.
There will also be some campaign content, a new Cleaner, two co-op maps and the communal Fort Hope hub space. Talk about things to drool over! It seems like almost everything will be available in beta.
Speaking of everything being available, everyone will have a chance at trying the Back 4 Blood beta! Set to begin on August 5 and runs through to August 9th on Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, PS5, PS4, and PC for people who preordered. You still have a chance to get into the open beta via the game’s website when it takes place from August 12 until August 16. The beta supports cross-play and cross-gen.
Back 4 Blood is set to launch on October 12, 2021, and will be available on Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, PS5, PS4, and PC.
