Babylon's Fall

Babylon Has Fallen, Servers To Close In February

That did not take long — Square Enix and PlatinumGames have announced that Babylon’s Fall will end its services beginning February 2023.

In a statement on the official website, the development team thanked those who played the game and that they “regret to inform you that we will be terminating the game’s service on February 27, 2023.”

The post goes on to say: “As a result, we will also cancel the large-scale updates that we had planned. In terms of the plan moving forward, Season 2 will run until Tuesday, November 29, 2022, as scheduled, and the Final Season will begin with the maintenance scheduled on the same day. This Final Season is the period during which you can earn the ranking rewards of Season 2.”

Since launching on March 3, 2022, Babylon’s Fall has struggled to maintain a user base and failed to enact a community. The game was muddled even during the beta periods which did not give potential players any faith that this would be a worthwhile game to invest their time into.

Last April, Babylon’s Fall saw no more than 10 players online, according to SteamCharts, less than a month after launching on several platforms. For those who shelled out full price for the game, this decision is likely to sting.
