Axiom Verge 2 Delayed to Q3 2021

Thomas Happ Games needs more time to work on Axiom Verge 2 which is now set to launch later this year during Q3 2021, moving back from its original delayed timeframe.

In a blog post on the game’s official website, Thomas spoke about how he was being conservative with his announcement last October that pushed Axiom Verge 2 to the first half of 2021. “I regret to announce that I will need to delay the release of Axiom Verge 2 one more time, to Q3 2021. I feel like I am channelling one of the heroes of the games industry, Mr. Iwata when I ask you to please understand.”

While there isn’t any particular reason for the second delay, the developer confirms the additional time will allow Axiom Verge 2 the chance to shine with the extra development time. As someone who is pro-delay on any game that doesn’t sit right with the developers, I understand and am bummed but believe the extra time will make a world of difference in this case.

To soften the blow, the developer is releasing The Making of Axiom Verge, a documentary filmed and directed by 2 Player Productions for free.

“As always, I am extremely grateful that people care enough about this project of mine that a post like this is even necessary,” says Happ. “Axiom Verge 2 really will be here before you know it.”
