Atlussurprised us when they showed off Persona 5 getting the tactics game treatment.
And now, they are hitting us with another carefully curated round of information.
While the last round introduces us to Marie’s Les Mis-like Kingdom, Yoshiki’s Kingdom transports the Phantom Thieves and Erina to a late-Edo period where Yoshiki is seen as a benevolent leader. In contrast, our heroic Phantom Thieves are seen as wanted criminals harming society’s balance.
Can Joker convince the citizenry of Yoshiki’s Kingdom that they are being fleeced?
Persona 5 Tactica brings Persona 5‘s cast back together, allowing for character swapping. During your turn, you can switch between the three active party members whenever you desire. Doing so is vital to setting up the all-out attack called a Triple Threat!
A new part of the Tactica format is the “Strike Down” state, where melee attacks knock down enemies and push them. Push them to a teammate to launch a follow-up attack.
There are five difficulty levels to keep new tacticians and pro-planners satisfied. They include: “Safety,” “Easy,” “Normal,” “Hard,” and “Risky.”
The Velvet Room returns with new resident Lavenza — who will help you maximize the new industrial room to fuse Personas.
Finally, we are getting some sweet, sweet DLC info.
The first DLC package is the “Repaint Your Heart Challenge Pack.” It adds Goro Akechi and Kasumi Yoshizawa, who will help the player investigate the strange Arsene graffiti and the mysterious artist Guernica, who appears to be Banksy but with possible Persona usage.
Persona 5 Tactica is scheduled for release on PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, Xbox Series, Switch, and PC on November 17, 2023.
