Atari is looking to create an “equity crowdfunding campaign” to find their next RollerCoaster Tycoon for the Nintendo Switch, the company confirmed today via a press release.
The new RollerCoaster Tycoon would be remade for the Nintendo Switch from the ground up, seeking to take advantage of all the capabilities the Switch has to offer, and Atari is looking for a minimum $10,000 in capital to get the game started. Through Atari Game Partners, Nvizzio Creations will handle creating an original version of the franchise for the Switch. Nvizzio previously working on RollerCoaster Tycoon for iOS.
“At Atari Game Partners, we’re confident in the incredible potential for the RollerCoaster Tycoon franchise on the Nintendo Switch,” said Todd Shallbetter, President and COO of Atari Game Partners. “Community investment will secure the development process to create an exciting new version of this iconic franchise for gamers around the world to enjoy. The much-loved addictive gameplay embodied by the RollerCoaster Tycoon franchise is a perfect match for the Nintendo Switch.”
