Assassin’s Creed Taking A Break This Year, Returning To Egypt

acseries

Since 2009, we’ve gotten a new Assassin’s Creed to immerse ourselves with. Mostly good titles, some bad ones, but, the series has been considerably popular and successful.

If the report from Kotaku is anything to go by, it looks like we’ll be seeing a little less of the series this year, taking a well needed and much-deserved break in 2016. We would see the series return in 2017 where the current rumour wheel is pointing us to ancient Egypt, aptly titled Assassin’s Creed: Empire.

These comments come from anonymous posters on the well-known board, 4Chan, and Kotaku’s sources confirm these rumours claiming that the reason there isn’t a game launching in 2016 is because of the disaster that was Assassin’s Creed Unity. Check out this post on NeoGAF.

The posts from 4Chan dictate that the title will serve as a prequel for the entire series, pre-dating both Assassins and Templars, allowing us to dive into the world of a slave.

There’s still ways to go before the yearly timetable where we can expect to hear from Ubisoft, so read up on above and stay tuned!
