Apple is teaming up with Sony to offer a six-month free trial of Apple TV+ to every PlayStation 5 owner in participating countries. Just before the second season of Ted Lasso begins, users can set up their free trial and enjoy original films and series on Apple’s streaming service.
In a blog post, Sony has announced that all PlayStation 5 owners in Canada, the US, UK, and many other countries can access a six-month trial of Apple TV+ for free. The only requirement is that the user must have an active PlayStation Network account and an Apple ID account.
The offer is available for a full calendar year. Starting today, users can redeem the free trial. By extension, the offer will conclude on July 22, 2022. Following the six-month trial, users will be charged the standard $5.99 CAD/ month Apple TV+ subscription cost.
In order to redeem the free trial, users must find and install the Apple TV app from the PlayStation 5’s search bar. Once installed, open the Apple TV app and follow the instructions. Once signed in with your Apple ID, your account will be automatically enrolled into the six-month trial, and you can begin streaming Apple TV+ content.
This offer comes on the advent of the second season of the critically acclaimed Ted Lasso. The sophomore season begins on July 23 and runs weekly for 12 weeks before concluding on Oct 1, 2021. Apple TV+ is also home to other critically acclaimed content such as The Morning Show, See, and Mythic Quest.
