A Second Resident Evil Showcase Set for April

Capcom is celebrating the 25th anniversary of Resident Evil this year and while we’ve already had a glimpse of the upcoming Resident Evil Village via the first Resident Evil Showcase, Capcom is planning a second one.

“We don’t want to spoil any surprises, so we’ll leave it to all of you to speculate on what this upcoming presentation might contain,” Capcom teased in a blog post.

Capcom also revealed that an open beta is coming next month for Resident Evil Re:Verse. If you missed out on the closed beta, you’ll now be able to see what Re:Verse offers. The beta will be coming to PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and Steam from April 7th to April 11th. In Resident Evil Re:Verse you’ll play as iconic Resident Evil characters, including Chris and Claire Redfield, Jill Valentine, Ada Wong, and Hunk as they clash in multiplayer battles across memorable Resident Evil locations.

The idea is to take the other team down and build takedowns to gain a point score. Additionally, if you’ve been taken out by the opposing team, you re-join the fight a bioweapon with a new skill set, but who you transform into is based on how many virus samples you’re able to grab as a human player.

Lastly, Capcom confirmed that Resident Evil Village is coming to Google’s Stadia platform day and date with other platforms. And, Resident Evil 7 biohazard Gold Edition is also coming to Stadia, and will be available for free with Stadia Pro beginning on April 1, 2021.
