Last weekend over a thousand Kingdom Hearts fans gathered for the first ever North American community gathering, or Dandelion Meeting. The event celebrated the 2nd anniversary of the hit mobile game Kingdom Hearts Union x[Cross] and included activities, new playable content, and panels with the dev team.
Franchise Director Tetsuya Nomura and Producer of the mobile game Hironori Okayama held a panel where they talked about their insights into the inner-workings of the series. Kingdom Hearts III director co-director Tai Yasue announced, via video message, that the new mini-games fans were able to play at the event will also be available in Kingdom Union x[Cross] and Kingdom Hearts III.
Nomura also announced a special event where up to 300 Kingdom Hearts Union x[Cross] players will have their names immortalized in a secret location within Kingdom Hearts III. A new Player vs Player mode was announced for the mobile game. This new PvP mode will be the first time in Kingdom Hearts two players will be able to face each other. Players who win will be entered into a monthly leaderboard for a chance to win rewards and recognition. Lastly, in honor of the 2nd anniversary, 3,000 jewels were recently gifted to players. Today, players were gifted two Fantasia Mickey B medals which can be claimed within the next month.
