Annapurna Interactive Opens First Internal Studio

Chelsea Hash will lead the team

Per The Hollywood Reporter, Annapurna Interactive has announced it is opening an internal development studio with industry vet Chelsea Hash at the wheel.

Joining Hash are game devs veterans Brett Lajzer, Evan Hembacher, Cosimo Galluzi, and Nate Grove. Hash served as game director on last year’s well-received Solar Ash.

It’s exciting to see Annapurna doing well and to the point, that they can now work on projects internally. This isn’t the first time we’ve heard the publisher was working on creating an internal studio — the news was rumbling back in 2020.

In a press release, Hash had some keywords about the studio opening: “We’ve worked closely with the people at Annapurna Interactive for years and this was an exciting next step for us to be able to integrate with the team. We are working toward a special new experience and look forward to revealing more details.”

After years of some excellent games being published under the Annapurna Interactive label, including Florence, Sayonara Wild Hearts, and the upcoming release Stray, the studio has grown to have a lot of influence over fans and their purchases.

Annapurna Interactive has several job openings available at the time of this post and if you feel like you fit the requirements, head here to apply.
