All The Borderlands 3 Scrapped Cover Arts

When Borderlands 3 had it’s official unveiling and Gearbox revealed the accompanying cover art for the game, the developer noted that they went through several iterations of the cover art, including a three-gun salute that fell in line with the previous entries.

At San Diego Comic-Con this past weekend, Gearbox brought with them not one, not one, but a dozen variations of concepts of the box art. All of them are exceptional and offer a flavour only Borderlands offers with their aesthetic. During the Museum of Mayhem exhibit held over the weekend, Resetera user vestan snapped images at the event and posted them to the online forum.

My favourite of the bunch is the one piece with the text Bord3rlands and the silhouette of the psycho. The image is clean, simple, and is so perfect for the game. On the other hand, the psycho using his two hands and a foot to signify “3” is also as perfect as the official cover art, but I can see why Gearbox didn’t go with it.

At the end of the day though, it’s only the cover art and thankfully it’s clean as it is. With any hope, I’d love to see a reversible cover art come with the game when it launched in September.
