In anticipation of Aliens Dark Descent‘s upcoming launch Publisher Focus Entertainment and developer Tindalos Interactive have released the game’s story trailer, which shows off the game’s thrilling narrative alongside a couple of shots of the top-down tactical gameplay.
For those unaware, Aliens Dark Descent is an original story set in the universe of the movie franchise that takes place 20 years after 1992’s Alien 3; following Xenomorph ‘Prison Break’-ing its way out of confinement, the crew on board the Otago spacecraft crash lands on Planet Lethe. If that isn’t the worse, the sci-fi nightmare does get worse as this series of events leads to the activation of the Cerberus Protocol. This planetary lockdown prevents all ships from leaving or landing on the planet.
The actual gameplay will see players, alongside their team of Colonial Marines, take on Xenomorphs; that plural is no mistake as the game will pit you against familiar creatures familiar to the franchise, including Facehuggers, Praetorians, Alien Queens, human enemies in the form of rogue commandos, and something brand new. The game’s cast includes the deputy administrator at Lethe’s Pioneer Station, Maeko Hayes, US Colonial Marines Sergeant, Jonas Harper, and Colony Director for Weyland-Yutani, Barbara Pryce.
Aliens Dark Descent is set to launch early next week on PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series on June 20th.
