Remedy’s had a few pretty big years recently and with all the hype surrounding Alan Wake, now is the perfect time to reveal a sequel is in development.
Announced during The Game Awards 2021, Remedy Entertainment and Sam Lake were on hand to introduce Alan Wake 2. “We know this is going to be a pretty scary experience,” Sam Lake said at The Game Awards.
As for why Sam said that? Well, Alan Wake 2 will be Remedy’s first-ever survival horror game. The first game was an action game with horror elements to it, so the team decided that a sequel needed to be
“It’s no secret that we have passionately pursued an opportunity to return to Alan Wake‘s story for years,” says Sam Lake. “All that hard work has brought us here. The stars have aligned. It’s happening now, and we know the community is as passionate as we are about seeing Alan Wake‘s next chapter unfold. Alan Wake II is our first ever survival horror game, a genre that lets us dive deeper than ever before into building an intense atmosphere and a twisted, layered, psychological story.”
Alan Wake 2 will be coming to PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC. More information will be revealed next year.
