L.A.-based Akupara Games is celebrating a full decade as a primarily remote collective of indie game publishers, supporting developers in bringing games to player communities looking for their next immersive experience.
And as part of this, they are looking to kick off a new yearly tradition by hosting their first “Akupara Direct” on Sunday, September 6, 2026.
Although it’s just a day short of the exact anniversary of the collective’s founding on October 5, 2016, Akupara Direct will be streamed live on YouTube and Twitch, featuring a half-hour presentation hosted by indie lover and curator AlphaBetaGamer.
Tune in for multiple world premieres, alongside release dates for previously announced titles.
Once the Akupara Direct ends, the real party begins. Both channels will spend the rest of the day broadcasting live programming, with developer play sessions, AMAs and community segments running through the afternoon.
Amalgamating on October 5, 2016, Akupara Games is about to hit ten years of publishing truly independent titles, building a catalogue of nearly 50 games including: Rain World, Cryptmaster, GRIME, GRIME 2, Mutazione, Desert Child and The Darkside Detective.
Times for events throughout the day, as well as more information about what will be at Akupara Direct, are still coming. Learn more now.
