A Final Fantasy 16 State of Play Announced

Square Enix and PlayStation have announced a new State of Play that will air this week and it will focus on Final Fantasy 16. The State of Play is scheduled to go live this Thursday, April 13 at 5 PM ET.

Sony says to expect around 20 minutes of gameplay with a focus on the setting, the Eikons, and the Dominants for this week’s State of Play.

“From the moment Final Fantasy 16 debuted in our 2020 PlayStation 5 Showcase, fans around the world have eagerly awaited details on the game’s dark fantasy setting, the powerful Eikons and the Dominants who house them, and the flashy battle system teased in those early trailers.”

It has been a long journey on the road to the next Final Fantasy installment. With the first major game since 2016’s Final Fantasy 15 being announced during the PS5 Showcase, most details have been kept under wraps with a preview event only recently pulling the curtains back on what fans can expect.

Even as a Sony event, this is the second State of Play for this year, with the first one focusing on what is coming to PlayStation VR2 and a look at Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League.

You can tune into Twitch or YouTube on April 13 at 2 PM PT/5 PM ET.
