After delaying Dead Island 2 by several weeks, Dambuster Studio and Deep Silver have announced a showcase for the long-in-development title. On December 6, we’ll get our first look at what we’ve been waiting nearly a decade for.
Save the date, Slayers. We're rolling out the bloody red carpet for our Dead Island 2 Showcase on December 6th, 8pm GMT | 9pm CET | 1pm PT, and you're invited to watch the premiere here: https://t.co/R4vpDlGu6K#DeadIsland #SeeYouInHELLA pic.twitter.com/5hChYF5921

On Twitter, Deep Silver ceded the delay isn’t what the publisher wanted but it was necessary. So next week at 4 PM ET you can head to see what you’re getting into.
“The irony of delaying Dead Island 2 is not lost on us, and we are as disappointed as you undoubtedly are,” Deep Silver said on the delay. “The delay is just 12 short weeks and development is on the final straight now; we’re going to take the time we need to make sure we can launch a game we’re proud to launch. For those of you who’ve been waiting for years, thank you for hanging in there with us.”
The move from February to April 28 isn’t too bad and honestly, I’m perfectly fine waiting for the experience we deserve. The original Dead Island may not have been as deep as the infamous trailer it spawned but it was a good zombie game at the time.
