Developer Halberd Studios along with publisher Freedom Games have revealed when Metroidvania title 9 Years of Shadows will launch: March 27, 2023.
Set in a world cursed and devoid of colour, you play as Eurpoa, a young warrior who sets out to restore the world. Heading to the Castle Talo to break the curse, Europa is joined by Apino, a mysterious teddy bear with healing powers. Together, the two battle against various enemies using the powers of the elemental gods including Poseidon, Gaia, and Helios to boost attacks, take advantage of enemy vulnerabilities, grant new traversal options, and dawn beautiful armour.
Some of the locations shown in the video include Forgotten Pond, the oriental Eucalyptus Garden, and lonely Upper Quarters, among others.
Also, the soundtrack is composed in 432hz by celebrated composers Michiru Yamane (Castlevania series) and Norihiko Hibino (Metal Gear Solid series). These two are even in-game as NPCs who help Europa by teaching her new musical pieces.
9 Years of Shadows will be available on PC via Steam and Epic Game Store on March 27, 2023, for $$27 CAD.
