505 Games Parent Company Digital Bros Announces Layoffs, Around 30 Percent Of Its Workforce

According to Game Developer, the parent company of Ghostrunner publisher 505 Games has announced plans to lay off around 30 percent of its staff, including those at many of its in-house studios. Those affected include Italy and Uke studios plus Digital Bros’ offices in North America (US and Canada), Europe (France, Spain, and Germany), Asia (China and Japan) and Australia.

While trying to quickly move on from this horrible news to everyone we laid off, Digital Bros says the cuts will not have any “significant impact” on its 2023-2024 financial year. After the job cuts, the hope is that they will help “adapt to this new and evolving competitive scenario” as they state players are now more selective of what games they are willing to pick up new titles versus playing “well-established Intellectual Properties… for longer periods.” 505 Games’ senior leadership in its PR division was affected.

“Sadly, I was one of those affected in today’s layoffs and am no longer the Senior PR Manager at 505 Games. I’ve got 7 years of PR experience, 5 of which were with Xbox, and I would appreciate any signal boosting in searching for my next gig. I’m numb now, but hanging in there,” former 505 Games senior PR Manager Nick Salazar said in a Twitter post.

The news of layoffs comes less than a month after the release of Ghostrunner 2 on PC, PS5, and Xbox Series X|S.
