5 Favourite Announcements from Xbox’s E3 Briefing

The most exciting time for gamers has official started and with the biggest showcase of games and hardware set to announce in the next few days let’s just say it’s hard to keep our cool; especially after seeing Xbox’s Briefing that took place earlier today. So what better way to set the hype train in full motion then by picking out our favourite moments from this year’s Xbox Briefing.

Xbox One X

There were definitely a lot of “wins” for Xbox this year as they showed off 42 games, including 22 exclusive titles, and of course the unveiling of the Xbox One X. It was no surprise that the Xbox One X, previously referred to as the Xbox Scorpio, the conference was revealed. Xbox gave fans exactly what they wanted by kicking off the show with the console and they definitely delivered. The hardware is Xbox’s smallest system, but don’t let the size fool you as the company claims it has 40% more power than any other console out there. It also includes true 4K with  6 Teraflop GPU, 8-core Custom AMD CPU, 12 GB GDDR5 of graphic memory and 326 GB/sec memory bandwidth just to name a few specs. The Xbox One X and all its glory is set to release on November 7 for $499 US / $599 CAD.

Dragon Ball Fighter Z

One of best surprises from the show has to be Dragon Ball Fighter Z that sees all of fans’ favourites from the anime face off in this fast-paced fighting game. A different take on a Dragon Ball Fighting game, this title’s 2D art style is beautifully drawn and makes it seem like the characters are ripped from the pages of the manga. Dragon Ball Fighter Z also keeps the intensity of the anime alive with its high energy music, quick battle system and characters signature moves. Dragon Ball Fighter Z will release in early 2018.

Life Is Strange: Before the Storm

Another huge surprise was the Life Is Strange: Before the Storm announcement. This title from Square Enix is the next installment in a franchise that unexpectedly captured the hearts of many games. This time around players take control of rebel, Chloe Price, as she befriends Rachel Amber. Although fans are know how the story will end, given the events of the first Life Is Strange, it will be interesting to see the events play out that led up to Chloe being distraught and alone. Episode 1 of this three part title is set to release on August 31, 2017.

Crackdown 3

When you have Terry Crews a part of any project it’s pretty sure it will get some laughs and will be a huge hit. That is why this unveiling of Crackdown 3 has to be one of the best announcements in Xbox history. In the Galen Centre you could hear the laughter when Terry Crews as Commander Jaxon gave a pep talk to viewers about joining in on fun that the game has to offer. Xbox even amplified the announcement by adding pyrotechnics that created a great spectacle for everyone in attendance. Crackdown 3 is slated to release this year on November 7.

Forza Motorsports 7

We all expected to see the new Forza Motorsport unveiled at the briefing but also seeing the new Porsche 911 GT2 was a pleasantly surprise for all car fans. Not only was it a surprise to see this car on the stage because it’s the first time the world was seeing the car, but also because people didn’t expect a Porsche to make it in a Forza game. Previously Porsche had an exclusivity contract with EA but now that the deal is expired it gave the car an opportunity to show up in Forza Motorsports 7. Not only did the car look beautiful in person but also in game with footage shown from the Xbox One X, that had a crisper look than anything we’ve seen before. Forza Motorsports 7 is set to release on October 3.
