13 Sentinels: Aegis Rim Sells Over One Million Units

Atlus and Vanillaware‘s 13 Sentinels: Aegis Rim has hit a sales milestone, having sold over one million copies since launching in 2019.

The official Atlus Twitter account claims this sales figure, while the publisher’s website says this number accounts for all physical and digital copies. Since launching in 2019, 13 Sentinels: Aegis Rim has received many awards for its incredible story that spans three distinct periods.

It’s a mix of real-time strategy and visual novel. The game’s storyline is intricate and involves multiple characters and timelines. It weaves together a sci-fi mystery that spans across different eras, from the 1940s to the distant future. Central to the plot are 13 high-school students who pilot giant mechs called Sentinels to defend against mysterious invaders known as the Kaiju.

Gameplay is divided into two main components. The first is the adventure mode, where players explore various environments, interact with characters, and uncover the deep lore. The second component is the real-time strategy battles, where players control the Sentinels in tactical battles against waves of Kaiju.
